We are able to save the pdf from an URl, but when opening ,it is prompting "Error opening the content".
Here are the code snippets for writing data into the pdf file.
private function saveLocally(fileNametring, datatring):void
var file:File = File.documentsDirectory.resolvePath(fileName);
var fileStream:FileStream = new FileStream();

just a side note on USB connection:
the usb connection may not be all that good when you don't have the BB desktop installed. the pure USB connection using explorer from pc would require you on each connection to find the ip address each time from the the PB's about-Network.
and again when you wake up the PB or if you have put your PC to sleep earlier.

Regarding USB connection to the computer, I will have to try on other computers, but with my own computer which has BB desktop installed, my computer reads the Playbook like a USB memory stick and shows all the files easily on the Windows Explorer program.
I just wanted to make sure people knew about file manager apps that have come out in recent months, they weren't available at product launch. So for example, when I am browsing the internet and see a PDF file that I would like to download, I download and then use a file manager program to locate it and open it, as well as copy and paste into different folders to organize. I'm using Stuff app recently and it's very easy with finger-size folders, also Files and Folders supports Dropbox and other features.
When you search for a document from within the Adobe program, Word to Go etc, it is not easy to find what you're looking for. If you want to email an attachment while on Bridge, you're faced with this. I have found it easier to label a document that I want to email, putting a - in front of the name, then it comes up at the beginning of list.

looks like stuff trial is pretty good except it has to be in portrait mode.
So far I can't get it in landscape mode
Also I can't open text file from there: I get error #3016 despite I granted stuff file access but no decie info access.

thx for reply. if that is the case, too bad.
microsoft word does read and display text files
hope they will fix that
btw I also tried another appthe trila version of "FIle and Folders. it does display my text file in the small windows correctly including SE asian Languages, albeit in small font. however, it failed to display (giberish result) when not in preview mode. it does correctly display the file anmes despite SE asin char.
No way I would pay for that until they get it fixed.
