It's not ruined.
You can always disconnect and reconnect to your PC, run the BlackBerry Desktop Software and you should be given a message to update or repair... update and make certain you keep your internet connect live during the process.
Make sure your PlayBook battery is charged.

Well it happened to me a while back while I was debricking, and all I had to do was to restart the desktop program and then the debricking process and the Playbook is still going on strong to this day
