emailing large voice note attachment

I have a half hour voice note recording I want to email, but attachment is too large - how do I shrink it to make it sendable, or record it so it doesn't use so much space?

If you really want to email it, then you will need to transfer it to a computer and use an archiving program to split it up into smaller chunks and then send them in several emails. A free archiving program is called Z-zip from http://www.7-zip.org/

Of course, the person on the other end will have to have the software installed to unpack and reassemble a split archive.

Tutorials are all over the internet. Here's one: http://www.linglom.com/2008/10/12/how-to-split-a-large-file-using-7-zip/

Personally, i'd upload it via PlayBook's web browser to a cloud service like http://www.box.com ( it's free for smaller usage https://www.box.com/pricing/ )  and send the other party a URL in an email to download the file themselves.

Sending large files through email is problematic. Other filesharing sites are rapid + share (the site here censors this word for some dumb reason so combine those two words and append a .com on the end) or http://hotfile.com/ There are even more than those, and if you Google search filesharing sites, a whole pile will surface. The ones I have listed are trusted resources.

Archiving your files in smaller pieces using 7zip is very helpful though and helps to keep their integrity. You could encapsulate the entire file into one .zip file (which most Windows PC's will have built in archiving support for zip files) but make sure you use the highest compression level possible to compress it the most.

Thank you for your response.I will check out the cloud service, as it starts getting cumbersome to start splitting it up.

Thanks.
