not recognized when connect to computer

I have recently purchased a new iMac and I dowloaded the most recent desktop software and installed it.  When I connect my daughters playbook I get the message on the playbook that it is connected, but it is not recognized by the software.  Any suggestion?

is the Desktop Manager not reconizing it at all? what about the Mac? 

 

I was having a similar problem, but my DM was saying the software version was 0.0.0 I had to do a full security wipe and start new.

Neither one recognizes it....The playbook is the only thing that acknowledges that it is plugged in.  I have re-installed the blackberry software on the mac and still nothing!?  I thought it was weird that the iMac didn't even recognize it being plugged in.  I am going downlaod the DM for my mac laptop and see if I can get it to recognize it.
