Re: playbook os 2.1.0.840

Actually, .840 has had extraordinary great battery life for me, after having horrible battery life on 2.0.0.688

Re: playbook os 2.1.0.840

Only had PlayBook for three days so have no idea of good. Or bad battery life. Could you both give an indication of time in each case please,  thanks Jon.

Jon, as you can see about everything, it's all relative, and specific to each user's own experience.

Re: playbook os 2.1.0.840

in my case it use to last a couple of days or more and now am charging it at night and is 100% and in the morning is 0%. must be something i've installed and was suspecting this new beta version... i'll try disable the wireless one night and see if it still goes to 0% by morning...

Re: playbook os 2.1.0.840

i'll continue to share my experince with the beta version for OS 2.1.0.840

- the battery is drained very quickly, even when the wi-fi is off and tablet in stand-by. it only last for about 10-12 hours.

- the mail application is hanging frequently. it use to work with no problems in the previour version.

Does anyone know where we can submit feedback about this new beta release to RIM?

There's a developer program, if you wish to join and submit feedback.

I'd look at what other apps you have running, or anything. You're one of very few I've read having this experience with the 2.1 beta. Of course, remember, it is a BETA. Don't expect perfect performance... that comes with the program. If you had a better experience with the public release, drop back to the latest 2.0 version.

That may be causing the battery problem. Try it with no mail accounts, then one, then...

Re: playbook os 2.1.0.840

ok. will try removing the email accounts... i have two installed.

regarding handling the playbook while connected to USB... for me it happens all the time. am working on developing an application that requires lots of testing on the device and therefore am constantly using it whilst the USB is connected... and now the battery runs flat more and more because I just can't keep up charging it...

didn't seem to be an issue with the previous version though or is just a coincidence and my battery is dying...

Re: playbook os 2.1.0.840

That usb socket is  as robust as a rare orchid in a hard frost. You will eventually break it. See all the posts on "my playbook will not charge" and "cannot connect to desktop manager" I suggest the rapid charger with magnetic plug for your type of usage.
