red battery symbol with lightning bolt when plugged in

First time it has shown this, normally a green battery symbol with lightning bolt..what is it???

Is it the battery icon at the top right?

Drained battery, I suspect.

a drained battery with not enough charge to boot the PlayBook....

Curious as to why that happened all of a sudden...playbook was plugged into a powerbar via the charging cable..I am thinking that the power bar may have given up the ghost..I had never let the battery drain that far intentionally before..Buying a new powerbar asap
