using my playbook overseas

Just a quick question here.  My daughter took my blackberry playbook with her on her trip to the UK since it's so much less bulky than her laptop.  She has an adapter for the power plugs there, was having huge issues with it charging, and finally after much hassle managed to get it to charge.  Now however, it's crapped out completely, not because the battery is dead but it just quit working entirely.  Is this because it's being charged using a power converter for UK to North America power?

Re: using my playbook overseas

No.

The Playbook has a built-in power converter so all that doesn't matter.

What crapped out?

What's not working?

Re: using my playbook overseas

First she wasn't able to get it to charge properly using the charger it came with coupled with the power converter for the UK power plugs, now she tells me it just crashed completely and she can't get it to come on at all.  I don't have any further details yet but hoping to find out more tomorrow.

Re: using my playbook overseas

1. She doesn't need a power converter. Just the correct UK plug. The Playbook has the power converter built in. I've used mine in the UK and I know.

2. LEAVE it connected to the wall outlet charger (not the USB > PC charger). No UK power converter, only the UK plug.
Leave it connected for 24 hours... every 3-5 hours, press and hold the power button only for about 20 seconds. Eventually it will boot on up, but first must reach a certain charge level.
You will see the blinking red and perhaps yellowish LED light, and perhaps a symbol on screen of "no battery". That means the battery is drained, but it must reach a certain charge before powering on.

Thank you, I'll let her know.  Guess buying the power plug adapter was a bit of a waste then!
