Hey guys,
two questions. First, if you have a Blackberry you normally need a Blackberry Option. Do I really need this option if i have a rootserver, where BESX is running? If I understand it right the BB-Option is nothing but a BES at my provider.
Second, i know BESX can only be downloaded for Windows servers. Is it not possible to get it running on a Linux Debian Server? Has anyone done it? Would be awesome.
I know there a different thrid party products like zimbra, funambol and other. Can I use them to run on the Linux system and let them do what the BES normally will do?
The point is I would like to use my own rootserver to provide functionality of the BESX and to have full funcionality without BB-Option.
Hoping for some good answers....Thx
PS: I read:
But officially no means that somewhere someone did something somehow..... ;-) if you understand..... :-D

You need a BlackBerry dataplan from your carrier to use BES axpress 5. No way around it.

you need a BlacBerry Dataplan, a generic on will not work.
A VM might work but I have never tried it.
