Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am working with Exchange 2010 SP1 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. Installed currently is BESx 5.0.3 MR2.
The current configuration works great without any issues, eveyrthing is ok!
We are looking at moving to exchange 2010 SP2 Rollup 4, I have checked the compatibiltiy matrix and the above exchange version, OS and BESx version are all compatible.
I am however looking to see if there are any guides, gotchas or information that is required for the upgrade. Do i need to perform any changes to BESx pre/post service pack installation? I cant find much out there aroudn this, without a DEV environment it will have to be completed on the production server hosting the BESx install.
Should I look at moving to BESX 5.0.4 as well, we are having no issues at the moment and as such unless required I would like to stay on the same release.
Any information or leads in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regads,
Michael

Hi,
same situation here.
I can´t tell you if there are any pro / cons for the BESX update.
But what you should do before / after applying any update to Exchange or BESX are the following things:
- check that you do not have a user hidden in the adress book (e.g. the admin, postmaster,...). You can hide the user again after installing the updates but make him visible in the OAB before starting.
- check if the throttling policy ist still active and ok after installing the EX updates
These are the points i tend to forget before patching.
