Hello,
I just got the Blackberry Professional software running a few days ago and just now figured out where to find the log files for text messaging and call history, but when I open the files there is no activity at all and I know that messages are being sent and received. The software has been running since the 2nd of November and there is no activity for any of the days that the log files were generated. Is there something else that needs to be set in the program to ensure this is information is logged?
Thanks in advance for any help.

By default, PIN and SMS messages are not logged.
Check out page 102/103 of the BES IT Policy Reference Guide
Disable PIN Messages Wireless Synchronization IT policy rule
and
Disable SMS Messages Wireless Sync IT policy rule
Set to False to enable the logging.

Thanks for the info. The SMSLog is working now, but the PhoneCallLog and the PINLog are still not showing any activity. I definitely know the PhoneCallLog should have activity (I set that flag to false as well).
Thanks for your help.

I set the call log policy back to default and resent the policy yesterday around 3:00, but the call log for today and yesterday has no information in it at all. The text messages are logging just fine. Is there something else that needs to be done for the call log to work?
Thanks for your help.

It looks like now the text messaging log stopped logging at 11:47 this morning. I tried rebooting the server at 8:00 PM but still now luck. No activity is being logged accross any of the logs. Is there anything that would interfere with the Sync Service? It does look like the professional software is contacting the devices like it should. I would think the logs would work fine if the server is connected like it should be.
Thanks for your help.

No, they sure aren't. The status of the SRP is connected and I even checked the SRP ID and the SRP Key and they are valid according to the test in the Blackberry configuration program. The server is contacting like it should. That status of the devices is running and the last contact time is within a few minutes. Since the SRP status is connected and the devices are being contacted, there shouldn't be anything else interfering with the communication, should there?
Thanks for your help.

I was trying to look around and see what may have changed on the server at 11:47 AM yesterday when the SMS logging stopped. I just realized that I had made some changes on Exchange Server. I added some SPAM block lists and verifyed the interligent message filter settings to make sure they weren't to low. I apparently did that right before it stopped logging. I also went through exchange checking other settings because I was trying to figure out why I couldn't use ActiveSync with exchange on windows mobile phone, but I didn't change any other settings that I can think of. I know that's a shot in the dark, but is there any way that could have been the wrench that's messed up the logging? I've restarted the server, so I would think that if it had messed anything up it would been fixed with the restart. What's your thoughts?
Thanks for your help.
