BlackBerry® Professional Software and BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express

We have a professional server with the newest version 4.1.4.17 and we have 8 users on this.  These are all personal phones and these users should be able to access any internet site they want.  Problem is they are going through our proxy and the filter is blocking them from sites.

I have tried switching the mds and the default browser and this still does not work.  I am aware that this server uses port 8080.  I need a sure fix since blackberry thinks i should pay to call and get help for something we already paid ALOT for.

When you changed the default browser, what did you change it to? You should be able to flip the default browser under Browser >> Options >> General Properties to Internet Browser and that should allow them to browse anywhere they want.

yes, i did that under the advanced options.  When it goes through the bes server it uses the proxy with our filter.  When i switch it to internet browser, its gives me a http gateway error 504

What sites are you getting the 504 from? Can you get to Google? Or CNN?

when im using the blackberry browser i can get to google and i get blocked if i try to go to a site such as ufc.com because of the violence content.  When i switch to the internet browser it hits the blackberry splash screen and then kicks out the gateway error, and never makes it to a page

kinda figured this wouldnt be an easy fix, well hopefully someone can chime in today, our users are becoming angry that they are paying for a 49.99 data plan and are being limited by the BES
