Hi, we are using a single BES Express with Exchange 2010 in our AD forest. The BES server is sitting inside the parent domain contoso.int. We have Exchange 2010 servers in both parent and child us.contoso.int domains.
We find BB users who have mailboxes on US Exchange server experience intermittent slow email delivery and send from/to their BB devices. Our guess is the high latency between US site and HQ cause the problem. We are planing to install a 2nd BES Express server in the US domain. Just wondering if there will be any potential problems to install a 2nd BES Express within the same Organization. Anything we need to be aware of? I was not able to find any docos regards install a 2nd BES server. Please help.

it will work fine, you can even use the same service account too.
can you explain your servers a bit more?
if you have 2 mail servers and one if far away from BES it can be slow as the ping time is too high.
then you have to decide if you want to use the same database or not with the second BES.

I have successfully installed the second BES on the remote site by use existing BESMgmt database. But I cannot seem find the 2nd BES from the BES Administration service. Under Server view, I can only see the primary BES... Did I miss something here?

I have installed 2nd BES by using the same BESMgmt database. I now have an option to switch BES servers for each user. Somehow, when I select the new US BES server, the description tells me "The Blackberry Enterprise Server selected is not running. Do you still want to transfer the user?". I checked the services on the new US BES. All seems working... The only error I got on the new US BES express is the one below:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: BlackBerry MDS Connection Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 15000
Date: 2/3/2012
Time: 1:47:26 AM
User: N/A
Computer: US-BES01
Description:
<2012-02-03 01:47:26.717 EST>:[843]:<MDS-CS_US-BES01_MDS-CS_2>:<ERROR>:<LAY
I have not yet been able to check the US BB users, as they are still in sleep. Can you see any potential issues here?
