Hi All,

I do not want my Junk e-mail items from outlook to synch with my blackberry phone. I have setup on the BES Pro server to only synch the inbox and sent items, however I keep getting my junk e-mail.

How do I stop getting Junk e-mail. Outlook is filtering the mail correctly and sending it into a junk mail folder, but it keeps showing on the BB phone.

The environment is Outlook 2007, Exchange 2003, BES Pro Server, note there is no desktop agent running on the PC.

So you have junk mail filters setup locally on Outlook client?

Can you or IT admin implement filters on Exvh server?

BES pro talsk to your Exch mailbox not Outlook, if filters are setup on Outlook, BESPro is grabbing message before Outlook filters them and update it on Exch mailbox. The work around is that you can implement mail delay on BESPro, this will give Outlook and Exch to update the mailbox and move messages out of Inbox and BB wont get it.

Yes, Junk Mail Filter is in Outlook.

What happens if I am traveling with my laptop and the delay is not happening b/c outlook is not connected to exchange?

Where do I setup the delay?

Any reccommendation on how long the delay should be?

let me try again:

dont confuse it this with your outlook, you have filters setup locally on Outlook, which filter mail after it hits your Outlook. On the contrary tjese filters should be on Exch so that exch filters junk before it hits your Exch mailbox.

Bu mail delay i meant you can tell BESPro to  hold on before grabbing mail from your Exch mailbox; the reason being that after you outlook filters those messages and update your Exch mailbox, the message will dissapear from your Exch Inbox  as well and Bespro will hae nothing to send to your device.

Butif you are travelling and your laptop (outlook) is off and those local filters wont kick in and bespro will grab the junk mail.

Ok thanks for your help. One last question where do I set the delay in BES Pro server to delay the mail so this way outlook can filter the exchange inbox before sending messages to the bb phone.
