Hi
We have MS Exchange 2003 environment and wish to install BPS on a dc server that does not have the Sytem Manager installed, our other dc with the System Manager installed has too many apps running that could conflict. Question is can we use the cdo exe file that MS provide for Exchange 2007 to get the cdo.dll and mapi.dll on the BPS server or will we have to give in and do another installation of MS Exchange System Manager.
Thanks

Yes you can use these components; but the recommended approach is to install ESM.
That said, installing applications on Domain Controllers really isn't best practice. Are you that short on operating systems?

We have two dcs, and two app servers (one exchange server and one sql server). Would be better off installing the BPS software on the exchange server as I thought it was preferable for the BPS to be on a dc, we only have 30 mailboxes and are looking at 6 blackberrys.

I'd be better placed on Exchange ... and even better placed on its own server.
No application servers should ever be running on a DC; it goes against all core security principles.
