I have been digging the whole documentation, I still seem to be unable to work out the right migration path that I need to follow.
I am currently having BESX 188.8.131.52 on a Windows 2003 Server Standard SP2 and I want to move to Windows 2008 R2 Standard and deploy the BESX 5.0.4. I have already moved my database from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008, everything works fine.
Now, I need to deploy my new BESX 5.0.4, so I can then smoothly move my users to the new server and then decommission my Windows 2003. However, according to my findings, I first need to update my current BESX to the 5.0.4, because all BESX must run the same version.
I figured out there were upgrade and full packages. I have seen in the documentation, that I can deploy the 5.0.4 directly over me 5.0.2, but when I do so, I get a message that there is already a running version of BESX on the server, which is obvious..
So, I feel ensure about what to do now and I would like to clarify a few points:
I am feeling a bit lost here, any feedback would be much appreciated.
