There should be a messages folder on the device, did you look there?
Also there should be an indicator to show when you get a new message.
Send a message from your email account to the users on BES with this in subject line.

I get this responce.
Your message:
" TO: ****@*****
SENT: Tue Apr 20 22:40:50 2010
South Africa Standard Time
SUBJECT: <$confirm,removeondelivery> Test BES 123
has been delivered to the recipient's BlackBerry Handheld "
But noting comes to the device. The pop mail setup on the phone comes to its own mail box on the Phone but nothing seems to happen with the besx account.
Any Ideas

I would try a new or wiped device and try activating it.
If that works then you have an issue with software or config on the device and a wipe may fix it.

Thanks this seemed to do the trick.
When I reactivated the phone I used The desktop software it seems to work a bit better or at least give you more info while it is activating.

As a bonus, you can turn up logging to see where the fault is too with DTM.
