I have had BESE running on SBS 2011 for a few months now with no problem - however recently I have been unable to access the BAS via the web interface.
It transpires that in my ignorance I updated Java, which in turn put a few things out. I have since installed Java 6 Update 35 and corrected all of the registry entries to point towards the new java files/folders. This seems to have brought the BAS-NCC Service back online, but the BAS-AS refuses to start, resulting in the usual "Page Cannot be Displayed".
I have tried to manually start BAS-AS but it refuses to start with an error stating that the service started and then stopped.
I'd be grateful for any advice on how to resolve this issue - needless to say Java auto updates are now disabled!

clear all IE cache?
can you access it by IP or FQDN?
Is BAS service running with about 600 meg RAM?
Did you try a reboot of server?

Many thanks for the swift reply.
The IE cache is cleared every time it is closed.
The BAS-AS service isn't running at all, even if you force it to start it will immediately stop again.
I have also tried a reboot but to no avail.
I will attempt to access it via the FQDN and IP but I have little hope!

Joy of joys! I will have to reinstall BAS then :-(
Would you be able to advise on the best guide I should use to assist me in reinstalling BAS please?
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for all of your help, greatly appreciated - would you be able to advise on how I would install the BAS on it's own please? I've scoured the Internet looking for guides but there is nothing that shows how to reinstall just this service.
