I know this is a common issue because I've been searching the forums and the Blackberry knowledge base for an answer but please here me out. I'm researching Blackberries for use by corporate officers. We're an all Windows Mobile shop right now. I've gone ahead and purchased a Tour through our Verizon business account. I used the Enterprise Activation readiness tool on the BESC site to verify it is set up correctly for enterprise use and not BIS. I also verified this through Verizon. I can also receive the enterprise activation email with no problems. I downloaded and installed Blackberry Professional Express since I'm in a testing phase at this point. I believe it to be configured correctly because I've used both the BBSRPTest and IEMSTest tools to verify permissions. When I add myself in as a user in the Blackberry Manager and choose to activate over wireless I receive the password in my Inbox. I enter the password and email address in the Blackberry and hit Activate. I then receive the message containing the ETP.dat file and that's where I get stuck. It will resend the message several times before finally timing out. I signed up for the complimentary Blackberry incident but when I enter my incident number the automated system tells me it is invalid and I can't get past it. I see my service request on the BESC and I've updated it with some of the info above but haven't heard anything from support and when I try to create a new request I'm told my PIN is invalid. Can someone shed some light on this? From what I can tell everything works like it should; there's just a hitch in there somewhere and the fact that I can't talk to someone at Blackberry is driving me insane. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Knottyrope, thanks for the reply. Checked all the settings listed in the KB article except for the SQL settings. I installed whatever version of SQL comes with the Blackberry Professional install. Says SQL 2005 but I'm assuming it's MSDE because I have none of the options listed(?) Correct me if I'm wrong on that. Other than that everything is set correctly. Any other suggestions?

I have seen that the exchange store has to be restarted in some cases.
Usually when the etp.dat files does not get removed it is permissions causeing it or wrong primary email address in AD sometimes too.
Sometimes a reboot of BES after an install can bump it to work.

Finally got this working. After looking at the event logs on the server I saw that the user was never getting initialized. I researched the other errors I was receiving in the event log and came across this:
Article Title: BlackBerry smartphone users fail to start with "GetIDsFromNames (0x80040900) failed" in the Windows Event Viewer
Article Number: KB19126
Link: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB19126
I followed the steps on adjusting the quota limits on my Exchange server, restarted the BES and added the user successfully. Everything is working correctly now. Thanks for your help on this.
