email deletions not synchronising

Hi,

I know this is a topic that has been started many times before but I have not found a fix for it yet.

When our users delete emails from their Blackberry divices they do not get deleted from outlook and vice versa.

I have checked Outlook and it looks okay and I have also tried resetting and saving the mail reconcilliation settings.

Can any one else offer any suggestions of things to try?

thanks,

Re: email deletions not synchronising

For device to Outlook: did you checked the settings on the device if deleted mails should also be deleted in the mailbox?
-> Messages -> Options -> Email Reconciliation -> Delete On -> Mailbox and Handheld

For Outlook to Device:
How are mails deleted? Do you leave them in the Recycle Bin?
This articles explains the behavior a bit:

Re: email deletions not synchronising

This will explain a lot about reconcile and hard deletes
KB04863 - Permanent deletion of email messages in Microsoft Outlook does not reconcile to the BlackB...

link in above KB in case you missed it
KB04853 - How to enable hard deletes on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server

I have also changed the messages state size to 1000 and it cured 99% of our issues.
The performance hit and RAM increase is almost nil on the BES box.

On Device also double check:

Make sure that Wireless Reconcile is set to On. Sometimes toggling that to off, saving it, then turning it back on.
Messages Options - Email reconciliation -
Delete on Mailbox and handheld,
wireless reconcile = Yes
On conflicts = Mailbox wins.

If still not working and you moved a user mailbox.

Re: email deletions not synchronising

Change the size of the message state

database

The BlackBerry Messaging Agent uses a message state database to manage the mapping between email messages on

BlackBerry devices and email messages on the Microsoft Exchange Server. The size of the message state database defines

how many recent email messages are kept in this mapping for each user. Increasing the size of the message state

database might decrease the message load on the Microsoft Exchange Server because the BlackBerry Messaging Agent

can use the local message state database to search for messages instead of communicating with the Microsoft Exchange

Server. Increasing the size of the message state database also increases how much memory the BlackBerry Messaging

Agent uses.

If you change the size of the message state database, your organization's environment might experience a serious

performance impact.

1. In the BlackBerry Administration Service, on the

Servers and components menu, expand BlackBerry Solution

topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view > Email

.

2. Click the instance that you want to change.

3. Click

Edit instance.

4. On the

Messaging tab, in the Performance section, in the Message state database size field, type a value between 0

and 1000, that specifies the number of messages that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server keeps in the mapping for

each user.

The default value is 100 messages.

5. Click

Save all.
