procedure in implementing BPS

We are in the middle of putting our BPS server. All our users now use the blackberry internet service to get their mails.

After we upgrade our data plan to BES, what should be the next step?

I assume you need to delete the intenet service account before doing the enterprise activation? otherwise you will have receive e-mails twice?

Is ther a need to do a clean wipe on the devices?

thx very much if anyone could help.

Re: procedure in implementing BPS

Yes remove BIS settings first.

A wipe may not be needed at all.

Hardest part is knowing the BES plan is set correctly.

It is a BESAdmin rite of passage to go through the gauntlet of correcting the right BES data plan with your carrier.

Re: procedure in implementing BPS

we are running exchange 2003.

i realize on the BPS server you have to install the exchange manager, I guess for the required mapi tools.

I'm having a hard time finding my exchange CD's.

DO you know if I can just install the Exchange Mapi CDO tool from http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e17e7f31-079a-43a9-bff2-0a110307611e&displa...

Is that good enough? or do I HAVE TO have the exchange 2003 manager?? thanks very much.

Re: procedure in implementing BPS

The Exchange MAPI/CDO 1.2.1 client will work just fine for Exchange 2003.
