My Device: Blackberry Z10,

Push notification issue("ssl handshake error")

Hi

I have download the Push Collector app form githud and installed the app successfully on the device.

Also downloaed server side s.d.k with apache tomcat server and installed successfully

I changed from local host and port 8443 to other external  ip and port,

The url looks something like "https://122.345.567.300:7656/high-level-sample" Browsed the url and filled the Add application form for push by selecting  "Public push" for BIS service and the application got addded succesfully.

Configured the app on device ,while registering with a valid username and password(user name that i gave while filling the Add Aplplication form) push channel got created after that a pop up occured "Subscribing to Push Initiator " but it failed with an error  "Subscribing to push initiator failed with error : Reason "SSL handshake error"

Please help how to rectify from "SSL handshake error"

Regards

Rashmi

Re: Push notification issue("ssl handshake error")

Hi folks,

Does browsing to the web server (HTTPS address) display any certificate warnings? Please test from both the BlackBerry device and the desktop browser.

You can control the certificate verification on the device programmatically, but of course it would be best if the device sees it as a valid connection.

Hi Badr,

Looks like you are already getting traction in this thread:

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Native-Development/subscribe-to-push-initiator-failed-with-er...

Please continue on the original thread but feel free to post back here for updates. From the sounds of the thread it may be an issue with the way the certificate has been set up on your server.
