Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

It would be an HTTP request from the push-enabled application to the Push Initiator.

There's an example one in Push Capture that you can look at.

See the "Call subscribeToPushInitiator()" section here: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/cs_creating_push_channel.html

It shows you how to perform an XHR request.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Thank you verymuch for the answer,

The password and userid is it the information of my Website, or is it the information of the Push Initiator.

Regards.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

It's just an example of how to communicate with your own server from your application on the device.

In the Push Capture sample, we use XHR to subscribe with our Push Initiator.  Basically, the user enters a username and password in the app and it subscribes with our Push Initiator so that we know who to send pushes to.  It sends a userid, a password, and the token from the create channel.  The reason why the userid and password are there are to map the userid and password to an existing user in the Push Initiator.

For example, if your system was Facebook (just an example), the userid and password would match your login credentials to Facebook.  You would locate the user in your system matching the userid and password and record the token (PIN) that you push to for that user.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Yesterday when I opened the BB10 device, I get a text message that
appears when I open it :

" Thank you for participating!
The Blackberry 10 Dev Alpha device program has ended."

I tried to download autoload for Dev Alpha to update it, I
pressed the power buttons many time to reboot it but it doesn't function.

Would you like please to help me with this, cause it's verry urgent, please.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Try these steps:

1) Connect your phone to the computer via USB

2) Run the autoloader

3) Hold the power button down on the phone for 30 seconds

When the phone reboots the autoloader should catch and start loading.

Alternatively you can try to start the autoloader with the battery removed from the phone, once the loader starts you can insert the battery.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Are you using a Z10 device or a Dev Alpha device?  If you're using a Z10, you can remove the back and physically pull the battery out.

Also, are you sure that the battery has not perhaps died on the device?
