Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Should I add some code in the Push Initiator to receive the Http request comming from Push-enabled, or it will recieve it directly.

Could I send fron the Push-enabled in the device the geolocation data to a server database (PHPMySql).

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Yeah, you would have to add something in your Push Initiator to process the HTTP request.

e.g. a Java servlet

In the request itself, you could put the geolocation data.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

I'm not really too knowledgeable about PHP so I can't really help you in that regard unfortunately. :smileysad:

I'm sure there are some valuable resources out there on the web.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

Don't worry at all.

I have a question in a different domain, is there any manner in the BB10 to have a function that controls the vibration with different intesity (low, medium, high vibration) .

Thanks.

Re: Push notifications in Webworks app

You could use the notification APIs to notify the user in the Hub and allow the user to indicate what notification settings they want to set for your app (e.g. sound, vibration, LED, etc.).

The notification APIs can be found here: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/apis/notification.html

If you really want to use vibration and have different levels of vibration, you could look at this example:

https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/BB10/VIBRATION

Thanks,

Matt
