sample-app not working with "CannotCreateTransactionException"

I followed the pdf guide step by step. However, I still got the following error in the tomcat log file:

Please double check your connection to DB again? what is DB you are using? MYSQL? could u share the connection info here? btw, please make sure that the property db.validationQuery (PushSDK.properties) is set to a SQL statement that must return a record, like this: 

 

 

db.validationQuery=SELECT count(*) FROM bpss_push_request
