I am trying to use Push SDK, and installed the SDK, created mySQL database, started Tomcat. I have verified that tomcat is running, however when i try to run https://localhost:8443/sample-push-initiator, I get I get following error message. I have checked in tomcat installation 'webapps' folder and couldnt find anything with sample-push-initiator. Not sure what am I missing. Would appreciate anyone with the help regarding this please.
Thanks in advance

When you're installing the Push Service SDK with the Apache Tomcat option, it will ask you in one of the installer steps if you would like to configure the Sample Push Initiator. You need to answer "Yes" and fill in the configuration details with your application ID, password, etc. that you received after registering to use the BlackBerry Push Service here:

Thanks for your reply.
I exactly did as you mentioned in your solutions but no luck. The link in your reply does not work.
Please, would you suggest me any other options?

It was putting the period at the end of my sentence as part of the URL.
The URL is: https://www.blackberry.com/profile/?eventId=8121
If everything installed properly, you should see three webapps deployed:
pushsdk, debug-portal, and sample-push-initiator
Do you see the other two?

Yeah, I can see pushsdk and debug-portal but sample-push-initiator is missing. I have some other folders in webapps - docs, examples, host-manager, manager, root and sample-app

Hmm, what's in the sample-app directory?
Just curious, what version of the Push Service SDK are you using? It will say in the file name of the installer you downloaded bpss-x.x.x.xx.exe.

Sample-app contains two folder META-INF and WEB-INF and some files/folders inside them. I am using bpss-126.96.36.199. I have tried re-installing quite a few times but no luck. I have manually created database in mySQL and also tried using PPG base url as default (https://localhost:8000) and the one came with the email (https://cpXXX.pushapi.eval.blackberry.com).

It looks like you are using an old version of the Push Service SDK while looking at the documentation for the latest release, 1.1.
You can download the latest version of the installer here:
For the PPG base URL, you should be using the https://cpXXX.pushapi.eval.blackberry.com one.

Thanks Matt... You are right. I got latest version 188.8.131.52 and installing it. It is asking me to configure Sample-Push-Initiator but at the moment I dont have settings for Sample-push-initiator. Should I enter settings from my application which I registered?
Thanks in advance.

Yep, you should receive a confirmation email with your application ID and password, etc. after you register to use the BlackBerry Push Service:
