BlackBerry Q10 keyboard

My Q10 keypad just stopped glowing.

I was to respond to an e mail in the dark and the keypad just wouldn't glow. I restarted the phone 4 times and there was just no respite.

Here i would like to mention that battery power was less than 10%.

Was the low battery power the cause?

Thanks

Download from App World the BlackBerry Virtual Expert application and run the hardware > keyboard test

Re: BlackBerry Q10 keyboard

JSanders,

I did the test and that did not indicate any problem.

However, I am still facing this problem of the keyboard having stopped glowing. It's night here and I cannot type anything.

The keyboard would glow for a few moments after I restart / reset the phone.

Phew!

Re: BlackBerry Q10 keyboard

[ Edited ]

Guys,

I did this last night:

1. Did a back up of my contacts.

2. Did a security wipe and cleared off all the data.

3. Restored the device software using BlackBerry Link.

4. Updated the software using BlackBerry Link.

5. Synced contacts from Windows Outlook to my Q10.

6. Added e mail accounts; except one that had a security issue.

Touch wood; keeping my fingers crossed - my Q10 keypad is working satisfactorily.

Let all know if the above works for you.

Cheers.

Re: BlackBerry Q10 keyboard

The keyboard not lighting was a result of the same issue other Z10s were having with the sensor data, and has been resolved now.

Do a simple reboot : On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.

BlackBerry has stated this will fix those sensor issues, including your Q10 keyboard light.
