Can't Sync Outlook Calendar with Q10? Is this true

Is it actually true that you can't sync your outlook calendar with your Blackberry Q10?  If it is Blackberry should be ashamed of themselves.  I paid good money for this phone and just assumed it would do the basics that a business phone should do.

That's not true.

New Link v1.1.1 software enabling the calendar and contact sync with a desktop Outlook was released yesterday.

Download it here:  NEW! Download Link (with Outlook Sync) v1.1.1

But for this to work your Q10 has to be physically connected to your computer correct?  it is not wireless and real time is it?

Yes, you would like wireless?

How to set up Outlook to wirelessly synchronize

Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar with Q10? Is this true

Sorry Sanders,

The article you refer to is talking primarily about how to synchronize with Outlook.com (an internet based emails service).

What we are all looking for is a way to synchrinize our devices with Outlook - the comuter based software, fweaturing a vast variety of features used by most people on a daily basis.

the key for "synchronizing" (not via internet) is to be able to transfer agenda items two-ways, regardless of email accounts.  Please lets not discuss agenda and email in the same sentence, as they are completely sparate dimensions:

- emails are addresses to which various text messages are sent

- the agenda is a calendar for a person, who may or may not have one or more email address (I have about 15 email accounts and only one agenda, as I am only one person)

the other key feature of synchronizing is to transfer contacts two-ways, regardless of email accounts, using the same logic as above.

Thereafter, Notes, etc should also be synchronizable.

Sorry, lmgeuk, the Outlook sync you're asking about has been around for years via BES and Exchange. Still available to you. Notes are not included.

Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar with Q10? Is this true

pardon the non-techie questions - what is a BES?

yes, I know about Exchange enterprise servers, but that is a different topic.

i am just looking for the basic two way sync with outlook on the computer.

they have had it for a decade, but now it is gone...  huge mistake if they dont fix this.

No, it's not a different topic, it is exactly what some need..

BES = BlackBerry Enterprise Service

If you want the simple wired USB sync, see my link above to last week's updated download of the Link software.

Meanwhile, you're butting into another user's thread who has different needs. He doesn't want the wired sync.

But that's your solution, update your Link.

Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar with Q10? Is this true

J Sanders,

Thank you for clarifying the acronym.

I am very aware of the Enterprise Server - we had it for over a decade at my previous office, I was just not aware that it was abbreviated as BES.

It appears that this is still the best solution (if it is still available).

Regarding your other comments, I will not bother with a reply, and simply bow out (or is that "butt" out in the new BBY professional culture?)

Have a wonderful day.

Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar with Q10? Is this true

I no longer have an enterprise system available to me.  I sync to Outlook via USB cable from my Torch.  No problems.  But with the Q10?  I need to be able to do this without failures and without a third party application.
