Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

Make sure you have signed in to your BBID on the Q10 first.

Then, connect to Link and login to the same BBID on Link.

And perform the restore.

Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

Thx JS,  That was indeed an issue. The re-load of the back up data worked well now.

Made some changes to the calendar to see if the sync with MS Outlook is performing better/again. So far it's been locked in 'getting status information'. Is that normal or should the new software OS 10.1.0.4181 have taken care of that?

Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

I'll be real honest with you, I don't know what is normal with Link these days.  :smileyhappy:

(no that's not normal to remain stuck in "getting status information").

What's happening now?

Refreshing to get an honest answer :smileyhappy:

Not sure how you guys keep your cool with this avalance of unexpected issues.

After doing the rebooth, decided to separate the contacts from the calendar sync.

The first sync, for contacts only, went very smooth

The problem seems to be with the calendar sync, it's still stuck in 'getting status info'..

Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

See if this link will help you.

Calendar entries do not synchronize to Microsoft Outlook from the BlackBerry 10 smartphone through B...

Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

JS

Finally some light at the end of a very dark tunnel...

Worked on all 3 causes listed in your document (thx).

The contacts sync works very well and in 2 ways

The calendar now works one way (to device and the 30 days window only. This after several reboots etc.

I think the issue is with what is listed in your doc (see copied below) and has to do with BB-Link.

By design, BlackBerry Link will only read the BlackBerry Link account on the device during synchronization. Any entries in different calendars on the device will not be synchronized with Outlook by BlackBerry Link.

Calendar entries are bound to the account on the device that was used to create them. A calendar entry cannot be moved from one calendar to another on the BlackBerry 10 device.

Hope to get the  2 way to work in the coming days>

Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

JS

Back on this topic. I have tried several options to sync. So far tthe conclusions are:

Once you sync, it works better to do contacts and calendar separate. Thats not good, but otherwise it doesn't work well

- contacts sync works very well

- calendar sync doesnt work well. The 2 way sync often gets in a loop.and even if you perform the one way sync,(say  from outlook to the BB), not all calendar items are sync-ed. I have tested that several times. Cant figure out why.

Hope that Link comes with an upgraded version asap to solve these sync problems

HK.

Re: How to upload latest device software on Q10?

HK, with those Link sync issues, I would encourge you to call your ATT support.

Tell them of the issue and ask/demand that they escalate this issue to RIM's tier two technical support.

You will get an incident number and telephone number and RIM techs will handle if from there.
