New Q10 with faulty keypad

I have purchased a new Q10 just 3 days ago. I started using the phone only yesterday after chipping the sim, to realise that the keypad has 7 faulty keys. I went to the BlackBerry store from where i purchased, and the guy said he will send it to the centre and wait for them to revert back. I have however told the store, that i will not accept the same piece as it was a faulty pack. I need a fresh packed piece instead, the guy at the counter said he will only let me know once BlackBerry reverts. Any suggestions what do i do, incase they plan to repair and give me back the same handset. I honestly dont want the same piece since its a manufacturing defect or whatever defect its called.

Re: New Q10 with faulty keypad

This Vodaphone store salesperson is not being truthful with you, you have a warranty and you should demand a warranty replacement for a faulty device, instore.

You should contact Vodaphone direct, not a store.

Re: New Q10 with faulty keypad

Carriers have the option of returning a refubished unit to you, whether it's your original device that's been repaired or another similar one. They're under no obligation to exchange it for a new one. My carrier in Canada, Rogers, will give out a new device if a faulty one is returned within seven days but that's their policy and nobody else is obligated to follow suit.

Cheers.  :smileyhappy:

Re: New Q10 with faulty keypad

They are only obligated if their warranty states they will replace with a new device, and some countries do have specific laws regarding product replacement within the first XX number of days.

Re: New Q10 with faulty keypad

My service provider is Vodaphone, but i purchased the phone not from a service provider. I bought it directly from the a BlackBerry Dealer store called H.K.Mobile.

So is HK Mobile who you are now dealing with, the repair?

What is their return policy for new non-working equipment?

Re: New Q10 with faulty keypad

The policy in India is since i purchased from a dealer, they will give it to Reddington Office located in my city wait for their feedback and then give me a feedback. Its a weeks time process, sadly work is held until then

Re: New Q10 with faulty keypad

If you wanted to return it, simply because you didn't like it, could you -- and get your full money back?
