PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

My battery is draining too fast. Found PIM Services running +30% CPU up to 70%.

Q10  SW 10.2.1.2102 OS 10.2.1.2141

Have restarted my device several times no luck

Re: PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

did you just add in the account? if yes then it can take some time depending on how much you are syncing

if no, then possible a corrupt conact or Calendar item exists.

Re: PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

Had the same issue this morning.  PIM services, account showed me that my BES account was "not connected".  It didn't indicate that there was a password issue but that was in fact the trouble.  I re-entered my password for the BES account (which has been in place for 3 weeks) and all is well.

Problem solved.

Re: PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

I had the same issue that all of a sudden started.  I deleted practically every app and all email accounts to make it stop.  Battery was only lasting 4 - 6 hours.  Re-entering my BES password for my work Microsoft Exchange email almost immediately solved the problem and my battery is good 1.5 - 2 days no problem since.  The funny thing is my email was working fine so I would never have thought to re-enter the password without reading the post here.

Re: PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

I have followed all the above ideas and PIM service now running at 36%, battery remaining 4hours, total battery time less than 7 hours. Is there anyone from BB who knows how to resolve this problem? There are at least 4 other users who have this problem that I know off, and a whole lot more by the look of it from the net.

I did a reload, and then registered the email (using Office 365) so contacts and caledars, I also unlinked Contacts and Caledars so only emails to see if it would make a difference. Nope. Apps were also loaded not restored. Presently no Apps running. BBM not workign either.

Time to change phone? Join the migration away from BB!

Re: PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

BBM not working might be the issue.

did you setup your BBID on the device?

are you up to date on BBM app?

Re: PIM Services using +30% CPU and draining battery

BBID is done and fine.

BBM is working, not sure if it was a technical or a carrier issue at the time.

Email contacts and calendar seem to be driving the PIM mad.

In order of battery usage                                        CPU

Last 12 hours               48 hours

PIM  71%                      156%                                  69%

System 11%                  34%                                  24%

Display 8.8%               27%

Standby  5.7%              17%                               2.4%

Have worked wireless and mobile, obviously have had to charge the phone 4 times in teh last 48 hours.
