Re: Q10 You Made Me Cry

[ Edited ]

I had some troubles with my first two Q10's that I all returned and got a new one for free. Warranties kicked in here.

I know have a Q10 that runs the latest 10.1 drop (10.1.0.4181) and together with BB Link Build 33 (Mac) I don't have any issues except that sometimes BB Link doesn't find the Q10 - a reboot fix this issue.

My Q10 is linked to an Exchange Server but also sync local contacts from "Contacts" (Address Book).

If you see issues with texting, make sure your Q10 is registered for this service (with Vodaf* you can dial *132# to check if your device is activated to receive SMS and MMS.

If you have all sort of troubles after the update I would probably return the device expecting some more serious issues that you will never be able to fix.

As I said, this is my third Q10 and the first one that runs perfectly fine.

Re: Q10 You Made Me Cry

This new Q10 I updated
Its now running 10.1.0.2039 version
And it says no upgrades available
Even when connected to blackberry link
Even when I try to update through the web
It says no update available
I sync my contacts from 5 emails, 3 live, 1 Gmail, 1 hotmail, I have around 5000 contacts and that shouldn't be a problem because blackberry is made for business and should easily perform well under such circumstances.

Re: Q10 You Made Me Cry

All of that will take quite a while to sync.

Be patient. Your device is working ovetime to sync your contacts and five email accounts, along with I am guessing BBM and other app data.

Go plus your Q10 to a charger, and let it charge while sycing.

I have also found that DISconnecting from the WiFi server and going pure network will help along the syncing at times. and then reconnect to WiFi.

Re: Q10 You Made Me Cry

If your carriere is not offering anything newer than 10.1.0.2039 you might want to try to reload the OS via Blackberry Link.

I did this before. My carrier was sitting on an "old" build while BBRY had a new release out already. Reloading the OS via BB Link updated the phone to the latest GA.

Not sure if this is still valid but worth a try.

However, as others said before, syncing a huge amount of data might take some time - but clearly to days. Unless you are using an accoustic coupler Smiley Wink

Re: Q10 You Made Me Cry

If my carrier is not offering the new os, is it possible to download from the web and install on device?

My contacts started to work well, only few issues about when you search for a contact, sometimes it doesn't show.
