Q10 - how to filter emails?

After a recent switch to the new Q10 it appears that all email filters that i had set up for my blackberry service have been disabled.

Clearly, the ability to filter emails (newsletter, etc) from being forwarded to the bby is a key feature of the bby appeal, i am sure they would not eliminate this feature.

However - how do I set it up/reactivate it?

I have a standard corporate POP3 based email (no gmail, hotmail, etc)

I have several email addresses

I am using Vodafone in the UK

thank you for your input and assistance.

Re: Q10 - how to filter emails?

Hey,

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

When using BlackBerry 10 you would need to setup your email filters and rules for the mail server, the email filter options of BlackBerry Internet service are not available for BlackBerry 10.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Re: Q10 - how to filter emails?

HI this a major flaw, a step backwards really!

There are 2 more features that seem to have disappeared (i) the possibility when answering to an email to leave out / erase the original message and (ii) you dont havethe choice any more between delting a message on the device only / from the mailbox.

Therefore from a heavy email users' point of view, BB10 is "forward to the past"

hope fully you are going to address theses issues.

Re: Q10 - how to filter emails?

Well, fromwhat I understand in this forum, the facebook and tweeter peopleseem to want all their emails to the bby, and do not understand us when we want to set up filters.

I have not noticed the missing reply/forward without original message option missing, but that is also a major flaw that needs to be fixed.

Re: Q10 - how to filter emails?

There are still plenty of missiing features in BB10. It's new and it's a work in progress though. I expect some of these features to be added in BB10.2 in a month or two. Not much help now, but that's where we stand with this nacent platform.

Re: Q10 - how to filter emails?

Hi Guys

It's not a permanent filter option but there is a way in the Hub to set a filtered "view" in 3 clicks using the search option.

In the BlackBerry hub:

  1. Click the search button
  2. Click the three bars to the left of the search bar on top
  3. In the left action menu that pops up scroll down and select “Unread” or any other option you wish

I found this at http://www.berryreview.com/2013/02/08/easily-filter-your-blackberry-10-hub-by-unread-flags-more/

Hopefully this may help some people in the interim.

Re: Q10 - how to filter emails?

Having moved from a 9900 to a Q10 I'm missing the function to filter emails by subject!  I receive hundreds of emails a day and found that  the filter by subject to be a critical function to keep track.

Is this something that could \ would be introduced in later releases of the OS if enough demand
