contact automatically being deleted

Can someone provide some insights as to why my BlackBerry Q10 contacts are constantly being deleted automatically? Not all of them but enough to cause issues. Example: phone # gets saved. A few days later, contact calls me and the # shows up but no contact name attached. I then search my contacts and the contact is no longer there! So weird.

Re: contact automatically being deleted

If you go to your Contacts app and New contact screen, at the top of that screen you will see "Save to... xxxx"

Where or what source are you saving your contacts to?

Re: contact automatically being deleted

Thanks for responding. I've been doing this every time. Most of the contact that was disappearing had been save. I also notice that when a contact didn't show up and I tried to save it, I was prompted that it was already save. But when I searched my contact it wasn't there. My contacts are usually sync with either gmail/yahoo/or my aol. Sigh!

Re: contact automatically being deleted

My guess is that you seved this to a local contact and then it automatically linked to another contact.

Search for the name and a contact with a different name might appear in the search results, Open that contact and look what is linked to it (use the "Chain" icon for this).

That's my guess as well, but I'd really like the user to create a new contact and at the TOP of that screen, tell us where they are saving these contacts... "Local", "Sim", "Gmail", whatever.

Re: contact automatically being deleted

Ok, wow, five places, and it's still getting lost somehow.

If you login to your gmail, hotmail or AOL on the internet, that contact is not located in either of those services?

Re: contact automatically being deleted

Hello, i've gone into my aol= random contacts combined with some of my contacts but only email address no phone #'s. Gmail/Yahoo= No contacts. Hotmail=only my hotmail contacts. It's so weird. I wonder where it's being saved to?
