how do I decrease size of pictures to email them

I'm looking to shrink size of pics when I email them. On my Bold 9900 it always came up with the size before attaching them. Can't find same on Q10.???

Re: how do I decrease size of pictures to email them

Hello ijon661 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for your question.

The photo size cannot be reduced when sending it.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks!

Re: how do I decrease size of pictures to email them

I am constantly taking pictures of jobsites and having to email them, I just sent 6 pics @ 1.1 ratio size 8.5mb. To reduce size i am have to send them to myself and shrink down on laptop then send out to clients.Getting tired of it, Like the Q10 but honestly should have kept my Bold 9900 this is a real pain for me.

There are many photo editor apps in BlackBerry World. Perhaps one will include the ability to reduce the resolution.

Thanks, never thought of trying an app. I downloaded Photo Studio, it is fairly easy to use works great to reduce resolution and has saved me a lot of time, was still a lot easier on bold though but oh well.

Re: how do I decrease size of pictures to email them

My BB Bold used to ask me question if I want to send attachment in
Original
Large
Medium
Small

I don't get those in my BB10 too. And I've been checking & checking for updates... The version updates doesn't seem to move after so many feedback reported online

Re: how do I decrease size of pictures to email them

I am missing that feature too.

Also in the editing suite of the camera. I can add lots of filters to my pictures (which is nice and which I enjoy) but a really useful feature would be to reduce the size. Also for uploading for example to facebook. I use up all my bandwith now after 3 weeks, on the Bold the internet always lasted me all month because the pictures also were smaller to start with (having a smaller camera).
The Q10 is a really great phone, but I am really missing some important features from the Bold.

Especially the e-mail filter option and the picture size reduction.

Re: how do I decrease size of pictures to email them

Just found free app "Image resizer".

It's a very basic interface but it does the job. I have tested it and have checked out the results in Photoshop.

Recommend a height of 600 pixels for pictures taken in 16:9 mode

and a height of 1000 pixels  for pictures in 1:1 mode.  Sizes of pictures is approx 50 Mb in both cases.

Automatically resaves pictures with a new name in a folder of your choice.

Hope this helps.
