vibration issues.. pls help!

Hi, my phone does not vibrate at all.. in normal mode or in vibrate only mode.. nothing works.. rebooted it.. reseted it.. check all the specific app notification setting and put all vibrate to on and still no vibration.. can anyone tell me if it's a software update problem or a hardware problem and how to fix it? Thanks.

Re: vibration issues.. pls help!

Ok, understood.

My first advice would be to return the device to the seller for an exchange and check first that your replacement does indeed vibrate. If it's hardware problem, you don't want the one you have, for sure.

Yes, at Settings > Security > Security Wipe.

Re: vibration issues.. pls help!

While I don't rule out a hardware problem, there are a couple of settings that overrule the individual vibration settings.

First check on the upper left of the screen if you see a little bell that is striked-through (just to the right of the battery sign). If that is the case, swipe down from the top and tap the little bell. This will switch notifications on.

Also, there is the bedside mode that switches all notifications off as well.

If that does not help, do the following test. Go to notifications, change the mode to normal. Then go to phone, make sure that "All Alerts" is on, make sure "Vibrate" is on. Call yourself.

Also, have a look at this KB article from Blackberry:

Re: vibration issues.. pls help!

Thanks for replying freakinvibe, I have tried your suggestions including the bedside mode, and still no vibration.. about the kb article, I have not used bluetooth at all.. so I'm guessing it's really a hardware problem then.. thanks by the way
