Contact and phone number do not match

[ Edited ]

Hi,

My device is Blackberry Q5, OS is 10.2.1.2977,
and the language is simplified Chinese.

For example, I stored a contact on my device with
his/her phone number 150-1111-2222, when
he/she call me or text me, the number might be
+86-150-1111-2222, and his/her name will not
be shown.

Why not just store it with the +86 prefix ?
Because the +86 prefix not appears everytime,
it depends. store every phone number in two
form ? I have over two hundred contacts it
will take a lot of time to do this, and I
think is not a good way.

I am an old BlackBerry user, I have several
old BlackBerry devices, and the old devices
do not have such problem.

--------

I checked, OS 10.2.1.2977 is up to date,

so this problem is not solved.

Re: Contact and phone number do not match

+86 is country code. When another person number is from your contry, then you might sometimes get call with country code or without it, that not problem, you can save it in any format. When you are saving number for not your contry then you have to always use contry code to call him/her.

Re: Contact and phone number do not match

I certainly know +86 is country code.

But you just don't get the point, or I'm just not being clear.

Call someone is never a problem, because whatever you

add +86 prefix or not, the calling will be OK.

The problem is when someone call you, his/her name

will not be displayed, there is just a number, so you have

no idea who is this.

The old BlackBerry devices (8520, 9000, 9700 ect.) could

deal with this, whatever +86 or other prefix appears in the

number, contact's name will be displayed correctly.

So, to this day,

A new BlackBerry device do NOT know +86 is a country code,

How do you call it a SMART-PHONE ?
