Re: 101 Blackberry Storm Complaints 210 EMAILS FROM BLACKBERRY

[ Edited ]

Hi there, i recently purchased a Black Berry Storm and today i was promted to update my Desktop Device Manager to the latest version which was about 5.1 from memory.

After updating the desktop software it prompted me to restart my system which was fine.

Once i re-started my system, we received 210 emails from blackberry containing the following messae which i have edited just incase it has device info in it.

This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

Easy, you installed Desktop Manager with the wrong options. You chose to install with Redirector or with BlackBerry Enterprise, and you shouldn't have.

Step 1: If you're not using Enterprise or Redirector, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.

Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

You've looked to make sure one was not inserted already?

If not, buy one.

Good luck.

Re: 101 Blackberry Storm Complaints No RSS Reader

No I have tried Try Viigo but it seems to slow the system down and use a lot of memory. Looking for a simple rss reader that dosent have all the features, flash colors etc.

Re: 101 Blackberry Storm Complaints

i dont think that purchasing a memory card so that the message goes away is a good idea. it seems that there is something wrong with it.

Re: 101 Blackberry Storm Complaints 210 EMAILS FROM BLACKBERRY

Thanks, i deleted anything that had "desktop" in it.

I didnt install anything wrongly, blackberry desktop manager said that it was doing an update, once done it asked to re-book our system and didnt give me any options. there seem to me many more options now in the desktop manager than there were before.

Either way i have deleted "desktop" from the service book.

By the time i came back to my blackberry last night, it had sent me 677 emails and the device crashed.
