Thanks, I did the update. One thing - my homescreen image now shrunk to its normal size and anything I do to try to get it to stretch out again (or just be larger), won't work. It still stays small. Any help with this?
By the way, what is this update supposed to do, because I don't see much speed improvement...

You can use any photo editing software on your PC to stretch the image to your desire and replace it on the BlackBerry.
As for what's different... you let us know what you find out. There is no change log posted.

But it's the same image I used before. How come it won't appear bigger now?
By the way, what is the size of the space that the image will go into (on the homescreen) - using only 1 row of icons?

I don't know the answer to either one of those questions.
A full screen for the Storm is 480×360 pixels. If you deduct the equivalent of one icon height, say about 95 pixels...
385 x 360 - roughly.

Following these directions it says to delete the vendor file. Is that necessary? I have never done so with any of the other OSes. I thought I heard before that only if you were NOT a Verizon customer that you had to do this? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

For any OS upgrade, if the OS file is offered by any vendor other than the one your BB device is branded to, you need to delete the vendor file.
So, if you have a Bell device, you don't need to delete.
If you have a Verizon device, you will need to delete the vendor file, in this instance.

I found the optimal size to be 357 x 290.
