BLACKBERRY STORM 2 is a backstabbing for all of us who bought BB STORM 1!
I don't understand why RIM didn't let have enough time between the two products and then start selling another version of their very "popular" phone that is full of bugs and misunderstanding!
THIS IS REDICULOUS!!! DIDN'T expect this from RIM!!!
NOW THAT YOU MADE UNSUCCESSFUL PRODUCT MAY BE PULL IT BACK AND SEND EVERYONE A
BB STORM 2 for FREE!!!

Not sure that I would call it a backstabbing, but it is rather disappointing. I have had more problems with my BlackBerry Storm than it was ever worth. I'm sure the 2 will be much better than their first try. But I don't think I'd buy one when my contract is up for renewal unless they gave original owners some sort of really good trade in deal.

I've not had many issues with my Storm 1. Although, I guess I just didn't expect too much. I can surf the net, send/receive text/pic/vid messages, send/receive emails, listen to music, and have some apps. I knew it would never compare to the quality/quantity of apps of the iphone.
As for the length of period between phone models, are you serious? It's been a year. I see more frequent "new models" coming out of LG and other brands.

I find that after the update to OS 5, my Storm has been great. Great enough in fact that I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything major in terms of functionality from the Storm2. Granted, it would be nice to have Wi-Fi and a few other things the Storm2 offers, but overall - the performance of the Storm is much improved.
I'm very happy with the update and will gladly wait until July when I'm eligible for my new every two.

I'm also very happy with my Storm with OS 5.
I don't think I'd use WiFi anyhow, so I don't think I'm not missing out on much. I guess I need to go look at the differences again.

well i have had the storm and i traded up for the storm 2 i really like my storm except it stopped charging and found out it was the port and my verizon store traded me up for the storm 2 for 79.00 so i jumped on it and there are a few differences but not much the new one is more responsive but either way i was happy and now im still happy
if you want to trade up there are things you can do not to pay full price

I find it interesting that individuals are still caught in the technology curve "I wants". Face it folks, there is always going to be something new in the pipeline. The Storm 2 design team was hard at work long before the Storm hit the marketplace. It is akin to academia and "publish or perish".
Other than out and out glitches where the instrument does not function as it is supposed to, that another instrument does something better should not be a cause of concern.
Perhaps I am lucky in that I have not had any unforeseen 5.0.0.328 glitches arise. My Storm performs as advertised, it does what I want it to and I fully accept the fact that technological advances did not stop because I bought a Storm.
There will always be a greener grass on the other side of the fence. You can either enjoy the grass on your side or constantly get a hernia trying to leap over the fence.

Try owning an Apple product becuase they do it annually. There was about a year between the original Storm and the Storm 2 so what's the big deal. At least RIM posted an OS update the day before the Storm 2 became available rather that doing nothing. It happens, new phones come out all the time, get used to it.
