BLUETOOTH PHONEBOOK PROBLEMS

My Storm's bluetooth phonebook transfer does not work well with my BMW "BTUM" Bluetooth module. My previous 8830 worked flawlessly. I can transfer selected phonebook entries (selected by category) to the vehicle, but end up with entries for both the names (with correctly associated phone numbers) AND the numbers (mapping onto the same numbers). That is, each phone number ends up in the car twice - once by name and once by number. Besides creating useless numeric entries in the directory, incoming calls do not display the caller's name, but only their phone number, which is useless. The formatting of the transferred names is also odd, with trailing "/" after the last name before a ",".

While this may be a Bluetooth revision mismatch between the car and Storm, I'm disappointed it can't fall back to the same behavior as the 8830. Anyone else have similar problems?

Re: BLUETOOTH PHONEBOOK PROBLEMS

Thanks for your response, but as I said, the problem is that the Storm has issues that my previous 8830 did not have. Both phones transfer phonebooks to the car, but the Storm has formatting problems including creating separate entries with the phone numbers at the contact names. I believe this is the cause of the incoming phone calls not displaying the callers name but only the phone number. Not very useful. I think I'll have to contact RIM via Verizon service to have a specific conversation about this issue.
