Backlight

I have had the Storm for 6 days, and really haven't had any complaints. Until today. For some reason, my backlight stopped turning off. The backlight stays on even when I am not using the phone. I made no changes to the settings, if that were the case, I would just blame it on user error. Especially since this is my first blackberry. I tried locking to see if that made a difference, but it still stays on. It is running down my battery and annoying the heck out of me. Can anyone help me?

I've been having the same problem... today my backlight stayed on for over 30 minutes and there was nothing I could do to make it turn off.... very annoying.  I'm taking it back tomorrow... This is already my 2nd Storm!  It looks like tomorrow will be my 3rd.

We all dislike this particular fix, but a battery pull may resolve whatever has gone wrong...make sure you are fully charged first, then, with the device powered on, pull the battery, wait a few minutes, then replace, then wait wait wait through the long long long reboot process. These devices are little computers that are in their first generation...destined to have issues. The batt pull reboot seems to clear things up.

Hi...sorry for the delay, I've been away on extended holiday.

 

You will need to explain more clearly..."red backlight message"...from those words, I've no idea what that is.
