Tried this and my failing backups are history.

 

This should be a sticky since it appears to affect a lot of users.

Nope. That solution did not work for me.

 

I have had this problem more times than the backup has actually worked. It fails on "Messages" everytime. Yes, I turned off the backup of messages but it still fails there every time.

 

Any other ideas?

same here - i have tried all the suggestions and i still can't synch my outlook calendar to my blackberry tour 9630  i was able to do this up until a couple of weeks ago - so something has changed  i am really ticked because this was one of the reasons i got a smart phone - to keep a calendar of my appointments in one place
