Bad technical support :(

Hello there, about eight months ago I purchased a BlackBerry Storm 9500 from Vodafone Malta and I was reasonably happy with the product. However from about a week ago the screen popped out and it was only hanging by a piece of ribbon. After a lot of hassle with technical support at Vodafone I was able to be given a 'new' one. The thing is that I was told that it was made up of parts from several other devices, but at the same time he was still saying that it was a new device. Well I accepted it but I'm not happy at all with being given a device which is not 100% new. After all I had paid €565 for it back in August 2009. My question is whether this is a normal practice as I believe that this is not fair. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!


It is quite common practice for carriers to provide refurbished units as warranty replacements. If, in the contract you agreed to, such is the case, then they have lived up to their end of that contract. You need to check your documents to see.
