I will download the AKME FFMP but is this something where I can put my DVD in my computer drive and then it converts it? I am pretty sure that is what DVDFab Platinum does.

The beginning of XandreX's post assumes that you already have the video on your desktop. I am talking about getting it off of the actual DVD disk first.

I have already done something comparable to this. I downloaded an episode of the 'Sarah Silverman Program' in .avi format off of the EZTV website and then used media manager to put it on my Storm and it came out crystal clear. I want to do this with movies also but straight from the DVD.

Here's what I was looking for before. I've never used it, but this is also free

Looks good. I am trying DVDFab Platinum right now. It has a 30 day free trial period and it is ripping the DVD as I am typing this. It has a very easy to use interface. I am attempting to rip a store-bought DVD just to see how it deals with copy-protection. I bought this movie so I am assuming it is legal to do this for my own viewing. Anyway, I will post soon with the results.
