Blackberry Storm 1- verizon Facebook Problem

Hi. I have the Blackberry Storm  1 by Verizon. I recenlty got brave and did the new update 6.0 I think it is. Now I cannot get on facebook. The message is not supported by this handheld. I never had problems with the Storm. Now I find I am not a big fan of the texting either.

I dont suppose there is a way to fix this?

Is there a way to go back to 5.0?

I dont know much about phones and all...I just know I used to like the phone and I know I am suddenly sad.

Thank you for your help.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Re: Blackberry Storm 1- verizon Facebook Problem

Hi there!

As far as I know, VZW is on 5.0.0.328...6.0 is nowhere (at least not in production). Check your version by looking at Options > About.

Since you've just updated, I suggest the following steps:

1) Dial *228 and select Option 1. Dial it again and select Option 2 (do Option 2 monthly).

2) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > BBKey (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

3) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

4) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Good luck and let us know!
