Re: Blackberry Storm - Google Sync

Hey everyone. I was having the same problem with my Storm not being able to move the cursor down to enter the password. I followed Ashleitr's advice and it worked.

Re: Blackberry Storm - Google Sync

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

rather than trying to put your finger on the field and clicking to select it, which I have been doing over and over, try putting your finger in the email address field once you've typed it, then sliding your finger down to the password field. (my screen may have been over-sensitive so this took a few attempts to get the curser right in the password field when releasing my finger, but it worked!)

try it out and good luck!

Re: Blackberry Storm - Google Sync

Great help!  I had the same problem configuring a replacement Storm.  Tried everything else.  Disabling compatibility mode did it.  Thanks!

Re: Blackberry Storm - Google Sync

Yes, I just got a replacement Storm... Google sync worked fine on the old one, and I had the same problem of not being able to enter a password to reinstall it on the new one.  The sliding finger trick didn't do it for me, but the "compatibility mode" trick did it.   How come they call it "compatibility mode" when it makes it incompatible with what I want to do?  :mansad:

as you may know, you cannot install an application dedicated to a BlackBerry devices if it is not compatible. Therefore, that compatibility mode is for Java applications that are not dedicated to BlackBerry devices, but for all J2ME mobile phones. In those cases, the Compatibility mode is the only way to use the application.

That being said, I do not know why this compatibility mode gets activated on BlackBerry applications.
