I just ordered the newly available Sync Pod for the Storm.  See it.  It holds the phone in the landscape mode, with a USB connection to a computer for charging and syncing.

I have not been able to make the Storm go into landscape mode when using it as a phone.  All the screens in that mode - the dialpad, contacts and call history - stay in portrait mode.

So, how to use the phone while in the Sync Pod cradle?  Seems like a lack of planning not to provide for landscape use of the phone and then sell a sync dock that puts the phone in landscape.

OK, I figured out one workaround for my own problem.

Rather than going directly to the phone mode by pressing the hard button at bottom left, I can initiate a call from the contacts folder in landscape by using the soft button for contacts.  I can search using the landscape keyboard and initiate the call from the Blackberry menu button.

Anybody else have a thought?
