Can't find app!

I downloaded the Blackberry Maps app - but I cannot find it on my phone! It is not in any folders. I re-downloaded it and it indicated that it was already there. What should I do?

Re: Can't find app!

1. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?

2. BlackBerry Maps is enabled with a push of a Service Book from your carrier.

On your BlackBerry device, go to:

a. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.

b. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

Re: Can't find app!

I tried everything you mentioned. It IS listed in the Apps (Options > Advanced > Applications) But it is not in ANY folder. I clicked register in the " Host Routing Table"  and rebooted.  I guess it's there - but not there!

Re: Can't find app!

OK, let's get the basics down here...

It is always helpful to receive help, to include:

a.your exact BlackBerry device model #

b. and carrier name, so that when you have a question, that information won't need to be asked up front.

c. Also, stating your device Operating System version is normally another common question, found on your BlackBerry at Options > About, third line down, looks like "v4.x.x.xxx"

Re: Can't find app!

OK.

On your device, look at Options > Advanced > Service Books. Scroll through and see if you find one entry:

 -- BlackBerryMaps - NA [LBSConfig]

Do you see that one?

If not:

On your BlackBerry device, go to:

Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.

From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list

Again, with the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

Re: Can't find app!

Ok, let's try THIS:

On your device, go to Options > Screen/KeyBoard.

Scroll down to Convenience Keys

You'll see a choice for Right and Left.

Open one, either Right or Left, and set it Maps, or it might say BlackBerry Maps.

Do you see a choice for either? If you do set that and SAVE.

Now, go back to the homescreen of the BlackBerry and press the Convenience Key you set just now.

Does BlackBerry Maps open?
