Computer recognizes my phone, but the drivers are not installing properly

I have a Blackberry Storm. I am running windows xp sp3. I have installed the storm usb drivers from the disk, didn't work. installed from teh site, didn't work. My computer recognizes that I plugged in a Blackberry, but does not recognize the drivers. I seem to see this happening a lot in forums, so is there something i'm missing?

My phone/laptop does this alot too... A battery pop on phone has always fixed this..  Take battery out with phone ON reinsert the battery and let the phone reboot..  (unplugged from computer)  should be good to go!!!

Ditto ^^ that, and reboot the PC , as well. One of them usually fixes the glitch.

 

Also, try moving your USB cable to a main rear USB port.. not a hub, front port or monitor USB port.
