I have had a 9550 since they came out. It serves all my needs. I do not want to upgrade to the new TECK ITEMS. But the problems are becoming annoying: 1) occasional dropped calls , 2) frequent self reboots, 3)while playing music from media card there are constant stops. Do I need a new phone? Verizon, my carrier is unable to support a new device. I have reloaded the OS several times and no improvements.

Since you have already reloaded, you may instead want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
